Myofascial Cupping
Most manual techniques and mobilization are based on applying pressure on the connective tissue to produce a release whereas myofascial cupping is the only technique that facilitates a negative pressure (suction) mechanism to produce a soft tissue release. The bruising produced on the tissue is a sign of the effect on the tissue circulation that produces the beneficial effects. Cupping works by stimulating inhibitory neural pathways, altering pain thresholds, promoting blood circulation, relieving swelling and increasing tissue temperature.
The myofascial cupping technique reduces discomfort in the target tissues and has been shown in multiple scientific research studies that it has a good effect in relieving chronic pain and consequently improving a patients quality of life.
